Eighty years ago the guns fell silent, marking the end of Spain’s bloody three year civil war. The ravaged country would take decades to recover, with the lingering horrors visible to this day. The devastation visited around the country was enormous. The Basque town of Guernica had been reduced to a rubble by the German Luftwaffe, but over time it was re-built. The same cannot be said for a small town in the province of Aragon.
